The Las Vegas Farmers' Market® was founded in November of 1999 by Ginger and Stephen Johnson. In the beginning  there were nine booths total and four were from the founders.  Two hundred people showed up for the first markets. Today, there are over 25 booths, including furniture, jewelry, arts and crafts. Over Five Thousand (5,000) people stop by each week!

FRESH APPROACH:  Take Your Pick
Jan Eisenreich walked across the blacktop parking lot on a sizzling Sunday morning, surrounded by an environment so dry and hot that it seemed incapable of sustaining life. But over her arm Eisenreich had several plastic bags filled with juicy-fresh fruits and vegetables, and under tented canopies around her were tables filled with an assortment of nature's bounty.

SUMMERLIN HOSTS WEEKLY FARMER'S MARKET TUESDAYS
Fresh produce and homemade products are available at the weekly Farmers Market in Summerlin. The market brings produce and products from more than a dozen vendors throughout the Western United States, according to Steve Johnson, event coordinator who oversees the Farmer's Market for The Summerlin Council, the nonprofit arm of the Summerlin Community Association dedicated to the social, recreational, cultural and educational enrichment of residents and co-sponsor of the weekly Farmers Market.


SUMMERLIN, FARMERS MARKET TO HOST ANNUAL STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL

The public is invited to attend the inaugural Summerlin Strawberry Festival May 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the weekly farmers market at The Gardens Park, located in Summerlin at 10401 Gardens Park Drive near Town Center Drive and Desert Inn Road.

FARMERS' MARKET FEELING PINCH OF FEE PAID TO CITY
Every Wednesday afternoon in Summerlin, Ginger and Steve Johnson shuck fresh ears of corn, lather them with garlic butter and serve them to residents attending the only farmers' market in the city of Las Vegas.
 

VALLEY'S FARMERS MARKETS GROWING 
Organic fruits and vegetables, hand-painted crafts and Louisiana barbecue also beckon their parents for four hours each week to a parking lot at Gowan Road and Rainbow Boulevard.
